Merdø is an island in the archipelago outside Arendal town, and is well worth a visit. Merdøgaard is a small coastal farm with a captain's home from 1736, kept as it was in 1800, with original interior and furniture.
The museum is open everyday in summer holiday. Entrance to the museum is only in the form of a guided tour.
Guided tours in Norwegian are given Monday to Sunday at 1pm, 2pm and 3pm.

How to get to Merdø:
