Guided tour in english of the exhibition Enslaved
Join us on a gripping journey back in time and hear the dramatic story of the slave ship “Fredensborg” and its final voyage — the tour is given in English!
In June 1767, “Fredensborg” set sail from Copenhagen, loaded with weapons, gunpowder, and spirits. The goal was to trade this cargo for slaves on the coast of Africa. The slaves were to be transported to St. Croix in the Caribbean, where the ship would be loaded with valuable sugar for the return to Copenhagen. But “Fredensborg” never made it home. On December 1, 1768, the ship was wrecked off the coast of Tromøy in Arendal.
